Route and Park Accessibility Information:

The route will be approximately a mile long. We will have a a ramp to make the kick off spot wheelchair accessible (there is a small curb that can be hard to navigate). There is road construction going on along 26th, so there are a few intersections where the asphalt has been stripped down creating spots with ragged, uneven surfaces. Some of this unevenness means that there are spots in the street that have about 5″ “step-up.”

The sidewalks on the south side of 26th street are wide, and are generally flat, save for a few spots that are uneven. Once the march turns down Keeler, the sidewalks become more narrow, and again there are spots that are uneven.

Taking the bus #35 will bring you much closer to the kick off area/park. However, for folks who will need to take the train the Pink Line stations near the park are wheelchair accessible, and all elevators on that line are in working order.

We will have one wheelchair accessible, portable restroom at the park that measures 91″x77″x77.”

We are conscious of trying to make the March and rally as accessible and anti-oppressive as possible for all the diverse Dyke community members. If you have any concerns about anything we didn’t address here, please e-mail

Current Mission:

Chicago Dyke March Collective is a grassroots mobilization and celebration of dyke, queer, bisexual, transgender, and lesbian resilience. It is an anti-racist, anti-violent, volunteer-led, grassroots effort with a goal to bridge together communities across race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, size, gender identity, gender expression, sexuality, culture, immigrant status, spirituality, and ability. We challenge fatphobia and are body positive.
